Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is a viral disease transmitted by tick bites, with cases rising across Europe, Asia, and beyond. Factors include climate change, increased travel, and outdoor activities like hiking. Orienteering, often held in tick-prone areas, may expose participants to TBE. While some orienteers are aware of the risk and prevention, many are not. To address this, the International Orienteering Federation (IOF) has partnered with Pfizer to develop educational materials, aiming to raise awareness and promote protection against TBE among their global community.
This e-learning course was created to support that effort, with content provided by Pfizer to help orienteers learn how to protect themselves.
